TTM Success - Koji Uehara

Today I had a lot of nice success. One of my favorite ones was getting Koji Uehara! The picture at the top is the base card I sent Koji and he signed it in blue sharpie with his number inscribed. I was very happy about this return because I wanted to get Koji really bad at this year's FanFest but he wasn't there, so I figured I would sent to ST and try out my luck with the only Koji card I owned! Glad my gamble worked out! Thank you very much Koji!!

I like finishing out the regular season with a win, but it's very clear that I'm missing Frank Gore and I don't like anymore the Titans D/ST, they just seem to be quiting. Either way I finished 8-5 in this league, not too shabby. The fifth seed is locked.

Big win, against the person directly behind me for the playoff hunt and the fifth seed. I needed this victory and won by another wide margin. However the victory didn't last long, on Monday Night Football I lost Frank Gore to a season ending injury. Gore was my third leading scoring back and he was an essential asset in PPR. Losing Gore and Smith is huge and now my firepower is going down. Granted I locked up my playoff spot, but I might not do anything once in. My record is now...7-5.

Maybe one of the best fantasy football outings I've ever had. Almost 200 points in a PPR league with standard sample scoring. Truly incredible...this is how I thought the team I constructed would preform. Andy never had a chance, and the winning streak continued. This would bring my record to: 6-4.

A nice victory!

I went to the Phillies vs. Giants game last night at Citizens Bank Park, and it was the first National League Championship game that I've ever attended, and it was a complete blast! Oswalt was a lot different from the last playoff game that I saw him, he was sharp and on the top of his game. Ross hit another homer for the Giants, but Jimmy Rollins got a very clutch hit and put the game away for the Phillies. It was a very nice night and one that I'll remember for awhile now. These were the last tickets that I had for the 2010 season for the Phillies, so hopefully they can continue on this run and get back to the World Series!!

I really don't understand why Andy didn't pick up a kicker. I didn't talk or see him the whole week at work or anything but I have no idea why he didn't pick up a kicker. I mean, he changed his team, because he had Garcon in on Sunday morning and changed it to Eddie Royal, which was big because Royal got 25 points and Garcon didn't even play. Andy's team started out hot, going 2-0 and being top five in the league in scoring but now he's dropped his last two and he didn't work the wire. I'm just confused.

Next week, I won't have Brady, so I planned ahead and claimed Mark Hot Dog. I still want to play Stafford (and I'll roll the dice and play him this week if he does indeed play). My record is now 3-1, which is good. Records don't matter that much in fantasy football, it's really all about making the playoffs and just getting hot. So hopefully my team continues playing hot and I can keep rolling.

Bounced back from last week's lose and got the win against Chris. I did get some breaks here and there but for the second time, I had to hold my butt on Monday night, and I was watching the Phillies more, so I didn't know the score was getting that close. Either way it was a good sign to get another win, and now the record stands at 2-1.

^ Buck's presser

I always work on Friday, but when I got news from Roch that the O's were holding a single admission doubleheader, I was 100% going to make the trip down to Camden Yards. I'm really glad that I made the trip too. It was a lot of fun and the O's won both games. The first game though was dead empty, I think there was only around 5-6,000 people, but it was a pretty cool baseball experience because it was quite and just pretty peaceful. Tillman and Guthrie both looked excellent in each game and I'm sure Buck will be thinking about that going into the off-season. I would still like the O's though to bring in another top of the rotation arm, not sure who it would be, but someone to anchor the rotation and give Guthrie number two status in the rotation for next season, because he did excellent in that role this season. I also didn't buy any grab bags this season for FA weekend but I did get to see two great Orioles win, for the last game that I went to for the season. That brings my 2010 season total of....5-3. Which is not bad, but I've seen better days!! ;-)

Overall the O's record stands at: 20 -4

Not too shabby!

http://philadelphia.phillies.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20100921&content_id=14915176&vkey=recap&fext=.jsp&c_id=phi

Super late pass right here! I've been so extremely busy with all the different fantasy baseball/football leagues that I forgot to update the blog here. I went to the Phillies vs. Braves game last week (game two of the series) and it was the last game of my ticket plan. Needless to say it was a lot of fun. DOC got his twenty win of the season against the Braves who have been ahead of us almost all season. The Phillies got the sweep, and just clinched the NL East title last night. We are truly in the Golden Age of Phillies baseball. I said goodbye to our good friends Mike and Megan who sat next to us all season. They were really great people and I loved talking to them during the games. Hopefully we get seats near them during the playoffs.

.5 Back!

http://philadelphia.phillies.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20100906&content_id=14382414&vkey=recap&fext=.jsp&c_id=phi

Earlier in the season, I had to trade in some of my tickets because I could not make certain games due to family or other related business, and one of the games I traded in for was this one. I finally got to see Roy Oswalt pitch this time (last time was in LF!) with the Phillies pinstripes on. The game was a lot of fun, and also it was great to see the Phillies only get .5 behind the Braves. We clearly have a great race going on in the NL East, and hopefully we can start winning more games and move ahead of the Braves. Only time will tell...

I went to the Orioles game on Thursday when they won their third game under new manger Buck Showalter. It was also Nick's bobble-head night and now all the O's promotions on bobble-heads are over. This game was great and a lot of fun, I'm glad I went.

Long Layoff!

http://philadelphia.phillies.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20100727&content_id=12678786&vkey=recap&fext=.jsp&c_id=phi

Went to the Phillies game last night, and it was another great game by the Phils. A lot of homers, some nice pitching mixed in between, and the best part was that the heat wasn't killer. It has been awhile since I've been to a game, but this was the next one on my season ticket package plan. So far, the Phils have been rolling on this plan, so that's always good. Dan Haren was suppose to pitch for the D-Backs but he got traded away over the weekend, so we got to see former Oriole/Phillie Rodrigo Lopez, who pitch decent last night, but got killed by the long ball. This was also the first time in 2010 that I got to see Cole Hamels pitch. That now makes the following Phils I've seen start this year...Doc, Hamels, KK, Blanton, Moyer. I'm just missing Happ.

Wild One...

http://philadelphia.phillies.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20100608&content_id=10958242&vkey=recap&fext=.jsp&c_id=phi

The game was wild, it was like a see-saw match. But it was a lot of fun, and it was great to see the Phils get the win. Mike Stanton looked great for the Marlins as well. It's late tonight and I wanted to post this, Blogspot seems to freeze a lot but maybe it's just me. Either win, a lot of fun at this game!
